In all honesty I'm primarily a 'dog' lady; even though I love all creatures, great and small. During the Covid-19 lockdown I thought I'd embark on some online training to keep my mind from lockdown too and to protect my husband from me locking him in a sound-proofed room (he does like a blooming' chat!) I learned lots of interesting and very useful information to help me understand some of the very strange, loveable and hilarious behaviour I experience from my hairy customers on a daily basis. I also discovered the endearing characteristics of cats and bunnies, so have a deeper understanding of their qualities now too :) bonus!
So! Now that one's under my hat I'm starting on my next course: 'DOG TRAINING ESSENTIALS' ...Wish me luck! ;)

Corona Virus took me away from my furry loved ones and plonked me back at the computer so 'Hello' all.
It's been heart breaking to witness the effects of Covid 19 on us all, in our local communities, our Country and around the globe. But what I felt I had to do was adhere to the advice and 'STAY HOME TO HELP PROTECT OUR NHS'. The risks for me to continue with my dog walking and pet services were too high, both to my customers and myself so I've been in constant contact with my wonderful customers by telephone and via social media until it's time for us to cuddle up safely. If you'd like to be cheered then please head over to my Gallery for my 'COVID Collection of Cuties' - I promise it'll make you smile for a while. In the mean time I include the latest information for pet owners to help keep their fur babies safe in this unprecedented period (that will become part of history). To follow is information taken from RSPCA website. Thank you to them for keeping pet lovers updated. How to care for your pets when carrying out 'social distancing' or staying at home due to Coronavirus: Q&A Last updated: 14 April 2020, 11:38 by RSPCA Advice by our animal welfare expert, Dr Samantha Gaines. Many of us are very worried about the impact of the coronavirus outbreak on our pets and so we have pulled together some Q&As to help you. The Government is issuing regular updates on the virus and what we need to do so please do keep coming back to make sure you are up to date. Please note that the Government¿s guidance differs between Wales and England. We strongly recommend that you familiarise yourself with the guidance for the area you live in to ensure you are following the correct advice. We're monitoring the situation around the cases of covid-19 and other animals very closely. Should the situation change we will update our advice accordingly. The following q&as are based on the most up to date information available. nsure you are following the correct advice. Can pets transmit/pass/spread COVID-19 to people? Can pets catch COVID-19? A very small number of animals; pets and laboratory animals, have been reported to have tested positive for, or shown symptoms of, COVID-19. Some of these animals were deliberately exposed to the disease and in an artificial setting which did not represent real life. The others were cases where the virus has reportedly been passed from a person to an animal. Importantly, to date, there is no known evidence of the virus passing from pets to humans. Even in cases where people have passed the virus to other animals, the risk is incredibly small, especially when we think about the number of cats and dogs we share our homes with: 17% of UK households share their homes with 7.5m cats and 25% with 12m dogs. Like human hands, pet fur could carry the virus and so it is important to adopt good hygiene when interacting with our pets, especially if they could have been in contact with other people. This is good advice at any time and not specific to the Coronavirus situation. This means thoroughly washing hands with soap and water after interacting with them and avoiding being kissed or licked and sharing food with them. If you or someone in your house is ill with the virus then if your cat is happy to stay in and is used to using a litter tray then keeping them in may be advisable. If they go outside a lot then try to minimise interactions and wash your hands afterwards. We do not recommend forcing a cat to stay in who is not used to it, as this may cause stress and even some serious health problems. Do not use disinfectants on your cat as many household human disinfectants are toxic to cats. If you have to handle a cat that has been in a COVID-19 positive house then wiping with a damp cloth or pet safe wipe may be beneficial, but be careful not to use excess water that may create a splash. This situation is one which is evolving and at pace, so we are advising that everyone takes sensible precautions around their pets. You should also avoid touching other animals outside your home. So it's good to know what to do to help them if they're feeling under the weather, or worse, if you have to help them in a medical emergency. I came across this really useful site, they're UK based too: PET FIRST AID ... Learn the skills you need to take care of your pet from a trained first aider. With online video training, it's like you're in the front row of class learning 1-on-1. I can't believe I've left it so long for a chat! No excuse apart from being dog-tired when I get home from walkies with all my customer characters.... Oooooh! I'm so excited! I'm going to go along and join in with all the fun and support my lovely customer 'Handsome KNUCKLES' on Sunday 8 September 2013.... it'd be GRRREAT if some of my other customers could come along and all meet up on the day x Find out more at: http://www.chinbrookmeadowsdogshow.com/index.htm Poor Tom needed surgery on his sore bot-bot last week and he certainly DID NOT like his cone collar! Luckily he only needed it for a few days and was free to enjoy his sleep over with his best friends Harry & Archie when I dog-sat with them while their Daddies enjoyed a special Birthday night out. Here are the three King Charles Cavalier sleepy amigos: "HAPPY BIRTHDAY to treasured TOM" I've helped look after Tom on a regular daily basis since he was eight weeks and loved him from the moment we met. "Happy Birthday" from Nanny Maria XXX Last week two of my cherished customers celebrated their first Birthdays. How do you celebrate your dog's birthday?
