I had to laugh this week, the 'boys' in my furry crew sound like the characters from the old film 'The Lady Killers' with: Tom; Gus; Humphrey & Knuckles in contrast to the gentle lady Jasmine. Each one of my wonderful customers are coming on leaps and bounds. Gus the golden lab has grown enormously and a delight to walk - Humphrey (I'm chuckling!) is a frenzied biting machine at 9 weeks who's gradually understanding 'NO BITE!' and to stop ski-ing in his poo! - Jasmine has the air of 'Lady & The Tramp' until she see's a crow - Tom is an angel who's learning every command within an hour - And Knuckles my latest pooch was rescued from a Greek beach with half an ear and a chewed tail - he's lovely. What a lucky lady I am - I JUST LOVE MY JOB! Maria :)
Pet Blood Bank UK
I found this very useful information on Twitter from ONESMALLMOUSE.ORG
If your beloved dog was involved in an accident, you'd do everything possible to get the life-saving treatment he or she needed. But what if your friend couldn't be saved, because the blood transfusion needed just wasn't available?
It's a horrendous thought - but it demonstrates just how crucial the work of Pet Blood Bank UK is. This is a charity that provides a national canine blood bank. It's the only pet blood bank charity in the UK.
The charity was launched at Crufts in 2007. By 2010 demand had shot up, and that year, the charity supplied 3,000 units of plasma and packed red blood cells to help dogs in need. Each unit collected can help save up to four dogs' lives.
Rather like with human blood donation, Pet Blood Bank UK collects blood from doggy donors at organised collection sessions all over the UK. If you would like to find out more visit Pet Blood Bank UK
"Right ........ That's as far as I want to go!"
Our cherished pets may not always 'enjoy' a trip to the VET but a good relationship with your VET goes a long way to peace of mind for you and your furry, feathery or scaley loved ones.
